ABOUT THE ATTENDANCE IMPROVEMENT & DROPOUT PREVENTION

CAPS is a collaboration of schools, community-based organizations, the New York City Department of Education and United Way of New York City. The program was created in 1990 in response to needs articulated by the New York City Board of Education, which include the need for better management and fund accountability of the Attendance Improvement Dropout Prevention (AIDP) program, greater integration of human service strategies into the school improvement process and access to private funding for leveraging public/private resources.
